Wherever you call home, you deserve a healthy, nutritious meal. WestMass ElderCare’s “Meals on Wheels” program is individualized to meet your unique needs, delivering lunch, dinner, and weekend meals on a daily or as-needed basis. Our team of dedicated drivers provides a friendly check-in and safety check for each person who receives home-delivered meals. The daily wellness check also gives caregivers and family members peace of mind. WMEC offers several meal types which meet specific dietary needs based on the meal recipient’s medical condition, including pureed, cardiac, renal, and chopped meals. Every day a Latino meal option is also offered to anyone who prefers a meal prepared with typical Latino ingredients and seasonings.

The WMEC Nutrition Team delivers much more than meals! Our Registered Dietitian is available to provide one on one nutritional consultation to anyone receiving home-delivered meals. She works on menu development, answers questions about the nutritional contents of the meals, and other important concerns like the sodium content of food items served. Nutrition Case Managers support meal recipients and stay attuned to consumers’ needs. If your situation changes on a short-term basis or an illness or injury occurs, your Case Manager can help you receive other home-based services to get you the support you need while remaining as independent as possible.

In addition to home-delivered meals, our Community Table program offers nutritionally-balanced, hot meals to older adults at congregate meal sites throughout our community, such as Senior Centers and housing sites. Regardless of whether you enjoy your meal at home or with others in the community, there is no cost for meals, which is helpful when making ends meet. We invite recipients to make a voluntary, confidential suggested donation which helps the program serve everyone who needs meals.

Here’s some recent feedback from happy meal recipients:
