The WestMass ElderCare Title IIIC Older Americans Act Nutrition Program is seeking bids from food service providers for the provision of traditional and medically tailored, congregate and home delivered meals to older adults and individuals with disabilities in its region.
The purpose of this program is to provide older persons, particularly those with low incomes and of minority status in the WestMass ElderCare, Inc. (WMEC) service area, with cost-effective, nutritionally sound meals served in strategically located centers where they can receive other social and rehabilitative services. Besides promoting better health and nutrition, this program is meant to reduce isolation, promote safety, and provide a means for older adults to gain access into the broad aging services network.
Meals are to be provided five days per week, Monday through Friday, excluding designated holidays, from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2027.
WestMass ElderCare serves Holyoke, Chicopee, Ludlow, Ware, Granby and South Hadley. The average daily number of meals to be provided is 1,200 home delivered meals and 75 congregate meals.
