We are grateful to many local, state and national funding sources that made emergency monies available to support our vital work, keeping seniors safe during the pandemic. We salute the following donors:
- $49,000 from the COVID-19 Response Fund of the Pioneer Valley. Spearheaded by the Community Foundation of Western Mass, this emergency fundraising campaign was created to provide immediate support to those in our community who are most vulnerable to the economic and health-related issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. These funds have been used to support WMEC’s nutrition program, purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for consumers as well as staff, provide grocery gift cards to homebound consumers, provide essential technology capacity for our remote workforce, and more.
- $25,000 from Meals on Wheels of America Covid-19 Response Fund, to provide immediate resources to our Home Delivered Meals program, which saw a 30% increase in requests following the state-ordered closures that began in mid-March.
Over $7,000 from generous individual donors in our community like you! Your support has helped us sustain WMEC’s critical programs at a time when they matter more than ever for our community’s most vulnerable. If you haven’t had the chance to give yet, please DONATE HERE.
